AITでは、2月9日（土）19:00より、ニカラグア人アーティスト、エルネスト・サルメロ
ンによるパフォーマンス、10分間美術館「禁止習：Prohibido bien aprendido」を開催
します。

エルネスト・サルメロンはニカラグア出身のアーティストで、石橋財団の助成を受
け2007年12月より3ヶ月間、AITのアーティスト・イン・レジデンスプログラムで東京
に滞在しています。

この10分間美術館「禁止習：Prohibido bien aprendido」では、エルネストと参加者が、
非日常的な空間を作り出します。ニカラグアの歴史や現在起こっている問題に関する
テキストを、母国語のスペイン語で朗読しながら、日本においてニカラグアという国
の社会生活や美術の状況を再現することを目的としています。
なぜスペイン語のみで行うのか、また何について語っているのか、それはパフォーマ
ンスの後で明かされることになるでしょう。

エルネスト・サルメロンの作品は、彼がニカラグアという国に対して名付けた概念
「レボリューショナリー・スペース」と深く関係しています。ニカラグアでは、こ
の60年間に多くの政治的危機や変革が起こりましたが、そういった自国の不安定な歴
史や政治的状況を表すための用語です。彼はこのような考えやそれに伴う出来事に強
い関心を抱き、作品を制作してきました。2007年には、第52回ヴェネツィア・ビエン
ナーレの総合ディレクター、ロバート・ストアーから招聘され、「戦争のオーラ」と
いう作品を発表しました。これは、ニカラグア内戦が社会や個人に及ぼした影響を扱っ
たものです。サンディーノ党と右派ゲリラ「コントラ」党からそれぞれ一人の退役兵
と、内戦中に落書きされたニカラグアの壁をロシア製の古いトラックに乗せ、中南米
を旅行した記録と共に、トラックと壁を船でヴェネツィアまで運び、展示しました。

日本のメディアには殆ど取り上げられない、ニカラグアという国が抱える問題から文
化状況、そしてそれらの日本との繋がりを、時間限定のユニークなパフォーマンスで
追求します。想像力を刺激するパフォーマンスにご期待ください。

なお、19:00にはパフォーマンスを開始しますので、なるべく18:50までにはお越し下
さい。

Ernesto Salmerón is a Nicaraguan artist who has been staying with AIT as
Artist in Resident since December 2007, supported by a grant from The
Ishibashi Foundation.

The 10 Minute Museum "Prohibido bien aprendido" will be Ernesto Salmerón¹s
first public performance in Japan. It will involve the creation of a unique
space in which the artist and others participate. The performance will be an
attempt to confront and recreate a Nicaraguan situation in Japan through the
recitation of history and current issues.

Ernesto Salmerón¹s work has been intensely involved with what he calls the
Revolutionary Space¹ of Nicaragua, a country which has undergone many
political crises and changes over the past sixty years. He was selected by
Robert Storr to participate in the Venice Biennale Arsenale exhibition in
2007, where he showed a major work involving two war veterans, an old truck
and excavated wall from Nicaragua which investigated the two warring sides
in the civil war there between the Sandinistas and the Contras and its
personal and social repercussions.
